moving to Flickr

Southsea SeagullI’ve decided to move from here to flickr. It makes more sense as I’m no writer and all I really want to show is my visual art. See you all there.

There will be a mix of shots on there, from portraits to landscapes and even a few Creative Commons licensed images for others to use.

flickr

Georgina GilesI’ve got got my flickr account back up and running now. It’ll house all of my event shots, street work — I’m getting back into street photography — and everything else that doesn’t make it to my site and blog. Oh it will also be the place where I will have a few Creative Commons licensed photos, share and share alike and all that!

a reminder and some wandering rabbits…

Strong Island ExhibitionJust a reminder that it is the Strong Island exhibition opening tonight. It’s the first show in the Round Tower so pop down and be part of something. Loads of local artists are involved and A LOT of work has been put into this by some very committed people. There will be a Strong Island beer too, what more do you need?

On another note there are some rabbits hiding around Portsmouth. See if you can find one, I know I’ll be looking. Bonus prizes for whoever can find mine!

portraits and a gallery opening

Russell SquiresI’m currently sorting through my portraits so I can get a selection of them onto my portfolio. It shouldn’t take too long to get the older shots up and I’ll be shooting a few new ones that I’ve had in my head for a while over the coming weeks. At last another section to my site!

Also next week on Friday the 15th the Strong Island Round Tower exhibition opens! It’s just around the corner from me so I’ve no excuse for missing it and, from what I’ve seen on the website, it should be a great show. It all kicks off at 18:00 and continues on until 21:00. If you want more info on it try the Round Tower website or have a look for it on the Strong Island blog.

On another side note I’ll be releasing some high resolution images of Southsea under a creative commons license soon. When I do I’ll pop a link to them on here…

the last 6 frames

I recently [poorly] fixed my Brownie Flash II camera and managed to get 6 frames shot before the inevitable happened, it broke again. I guess 120 film in a 620 camera is not a great idea, but it’s always worth a try.

it’s finally up!

abandoned warehouse, gosport. It may have been a while but I’m back online! There may be a few bugs left in the code, it’s still going through testing, but I’ll have everything ironed out soon enough and I can get back to focussing on my photography.

The Print Style Sheet will be next on the agenda, so printing will currently result in quite a nasty, unformatted mess at the moment. I know it’s strange to add a print style sheet for copyrighted work but it’s going to be printed at some point and when it does it may as well look good.

I really need to get the WordPress backend set up for my main site but there are just too many other things to do at the moment.
